Last month we celebrated seven years living full-time in Costa Rica. During that time we have had seasons of intense activity, and other seasons during which we could recover from that activity. The good news is that God has allowed us to serve the church and minister to a wide variety of people during these seven years, and He has consistently provided for the ministry through our faithful friends and supporters. Some things we are celebrating right now:
- A few weeks ago we hosted a pastor and church leader training event at The Brook Training Center that focused on providing counseling services in the church. There were 24 leaders in attendance.
- One of our long-time ministry partners from the U.S., Matrix Ministries, has continued to fund projects through The Brook Ministries, to support churches in Grecia, Siquirres, Desamparados, among the Cabecar, and in Nicaragua.
- Our church partners from Arkansas, Journey Church in North Little Rock and All Points Church, both smaller churches, have faithfully supported an amazing ministry through The Brook to train leaders among the indigenous Cabecar living in the Chirripó reserve of Costa Rica. These two churches have never failed to sponsor our Costa Rican pastor trainers every single month, nor have they failed to fully sponsor every project (buildings, youth camps, conferences) that they have pledged to support.
Coming soon to The Brook Ministries
- Hosting missionaries from Nicaragua. Because of your continued support, we are able to use The Brook Training Center in many ways. In just a few weeks, we will host a British missionary family for a week while they are taking care of some business in Costa Rica. They are currently serving in Nicaragua in an engineering capacity, helping to design churches, schools, and other vital infrastructure projects.
- Marriage ministry event. A new church has contacted us about hosting a marriage ministry event at The Brook Training Center, early in 2018.
- A tenth team from Arkansas. Our partners from Arkansas are actively planning their tenth trip for early 2018, that will include a conference, several church visits, and a wedding!
