We Are in This Together

Costa Rica is lagging behind the US by a few days, but we are still being hit by the Coronavirus Pandemic. Our borders are now closed to everyone except citizens and residents. Schools, restaurants, bars, clubs, and casinos are closed, and many businesses are reducing hours. Public gatherings are limited to 50 people, and social distancing is highly encouraged. The “panic” shopping started yesterday with people lining up at big box stores and local groceries to stock up with whatever limited funds they have. The poor, of course, have no “extra” money.

As for The Brook, we have future events and mission teams planned and are waiting to see what happens. We are using these days to work on our property, cleaning up the outside in preparation for the rainy season, and going room-by-room inside to get ready for what we hope will be our next team in a few months. Plus we are working on those little projects (admin, writing, editing) that have been on the back burner while I was finishing my schooling.

And we are praying. We are praying for the growing number of infected in Costa Rica, and for those around the world. Would you join us by praying over these needs right now?

  • Costa Rica does not have the safety net that exists in the U.S. If it gets bad here, it could get really bad.
  • The global economy. Remember, the poor suffer first and worst.
  • The future of ministry for The Brook.

Stay strong, be safe, and fear not.
