The Weary World Rejoices

The Christmas classic, O Holy Night, reminds us of the significance of the birth of Christ: “A thrill of hope—the weary world rejoices, for yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!” That truth has not changed, but it has often been forgotten. No matter the pangs of suffering the world endures, a Savior has been born. He is Christ the Lord!

At The Brook, we are rejoicing as we have just booked our first mission team for 2021. This was a critical answer to prayer, and one we hope will be followed by the three other groups we are talking to right now.

To spread the Christmas joy, we shared goodie bags with the Sunday School kids of our local church. This year has been tough for many people. Don’t forget the power of small acts of kindness.

It is humbling to think that God has allowed us to serve in Costa Rica for over 10 years now. People often ask us about when we will return to the U.S. Honestly, we do wish we had more time with our kids and parents. But this is our home! God put us here and has provided each year through the generosity of incredible people. Their faith has fueled a ministry that has been allowed to bless many, many people.
