More than a decade ago, we began a local Bible study in English through our church here in Atenas, Iglesia Bíblica El Cordero de Dios. It has continued with just a few breaks every year so we can travel to the US.

The study is called Atenas New Community, and it is largely made up of US and Canadian ex-pats (and a New Zealander). We meet for Bible study, worship, and fellowship every Wednesday.

And every month, the community gives. They help our local church pay the municipal taxes (yes, evangelical churches pay taxes here!). And they also feed several needy families. Pictured here are the food bags they donate every single month. Almost all are on a fixed income, and yet their generosity continues to shine.
