Click above to hear a short video (4:19) about what God is doing through our ministry in Costa Rica.
When the Pharisees and Sadducees tried to test Jesus by asking for a sign from heaven, Jesus responded with a weather analogy. “You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky,” He said, “but you cannot interpret the signs of the times” (Matthew 16:3).
I believe this judgment is true for us today. I can look out my window and tell you that the rainy season is over in Costa Rica. The morning sky is crisp and clear, and the afternoons are hot. It will not rain for many months, I can tell you that for sure. But I cannot tell you what this year will hold. Will mission teams actually be able to come down? Will training events resume? Will things ever return to the way they were? I have no idea.
But, by faith, we move forward. January has been an active month. We are taking care of business, and preparing for the future for which we hope.
- Food has continued to be distributed through local churches. With every contribution we receive directed to this cause, we are reaching out to churches on the front lines to support them in helping their communities. (See some photos below.)
- Construction at The Brook Training Center is done. Thank you to all who contributed! Two bathrooms were remodeled, some major repairs were made, and concrete sitting areas were built around the property for event use.
- Two mission teams are booked, and we are talking with two more potential groups.
