Circuit Rider

In the 18th and 19th centuries in the rural United States, there were horse-mounted preachers known as “circuit riders” who traveled from town to town to minister to communities that were too small to have a regular pastor. Hence, they rode a “circuit.”

The towns here in Costa Rica aren’t too small, but I did have the honor of guest preaching in a different town every week this past month. Over the years, we have built many great relationships with congregations all over the country, so it is a blessing for us to join them when we can.

We were in Atenas at Iglesia Bíblica El Cordero de Dios, our home church; in Jesus Maria at Iglesia Bíblica Fuentes de Amor; in Desamparados at Iglesia Bíblica Hogar de Fe; and in Jacó at Horizon Church.

Horizon is a fully bilingual church, so the sermon is in English. Enjoy the video below from our time there. The sermon begins at 29:50.

We had a great Sunday in Jesus Maria with a new translator, Bryan, who did an amazing job. He is a natural!
